One thing that definitely needs managing is paper. With taxes due in a few short months, now is the time to sort the piles of paper in your home. Paper organizing can be time consuming! So, here is our “no-brainer” list of 15  items you can immediately toss or shred: Get rid of the paper you don’t need so you can more easily manage the paper you do need. 

  • Articles or clippings you have not read in 3 months
  • Expired coupons
  • Instructions for items you no longer use
  • Invitations to past events
  • Junk mail
  • Last season’s catalog (I promise they will send you another)
  • Solicitations from charities (they will also send you another)
  • Expired warranties and service contracts
  • Old greeting cards
  • Old tourist & travel brochures
  • Magazines more than 3 months old
  • Unread investment and banking brochures
  • Recipes you have not tried in 2 years
  • Poor quality photos
  • Old road maps (or repurpose as gift wrap)

This is also a great time to try to put a halt to the endless barrage of junk mail. Go to Girl found a solution for one client whose mailbox was filled with catalogs and other mail she had no use for. We used PaperKarma. It took a few months but eventually, she was able to eliminate a large portion of the mail she had to manage in her home
